welcome, traveller…

Traditionally, mountaineering was reserved for the adventurous few with the wealth and means to pursue it. Much of the knowledge needed to become a safe and skilled mountaineer isn’t read, but learned through experience, shared around campfires, and passed from teacher to student.

My dad taught me everything I know about the mountains; lessons he had to piece together himself through years of trial, error, and perseverance. This website is a testament to that relationship, and to all those who have learned the hard way and chosen to share their wisdom generously.

By bringing together the stories, skills, and insights of experienced mountaineers, this project aims to make that knowledge accessible to everyone regardless of background, wealth, or starting point.
